Companion Piece
This sofa quilt is the ultimate stash buster. The fabrics are all leftover from the sampler I made this winter. It was quickly pieced. Hand quilting done in the ditch and 1/4" outside the ditch. Borders hand quilted with 2" cross hatching. The 1/4" echoing and cross hatching were also used in the sampler quilt.

1970's applique
I received 12 large blocks appliqued, embroidered and hand quilted. This project had been started by a lovely Maine woman in the 1970's in Georgia Bonsteel's quilt as you go method.
- First the front sashing fabric is sewed together in rows.
- The batting is trimmed and whip stitched together.
- The backing seam is hand sewed.
- A cable was hand quilted centered over the sashing seam.
